Belles Lettres: Publishing Graphic Novels and Comic Books

Graphic novels accounted for more than $95 million US in book sales in 2007. A History of Violence, From Hell, 300, and Watchmen were all first presented as graphic novels. Graphic novels are now even appearing on university reading lists.
Yet are graphic novels getting the respect they deserve? How is the traditional book media reacting to this new format? Do graphic novels present special challenges from an editorial, production, or marketing perspective? Join our panel as we discuss this exciting and lucrative area of publishing.
